SG Tourism Board appoints new chief executive

Melissa Ow will take on the new role.

Melissa Ow will end her stint as Economic Development Board's (EDB) Executive Vice President for Customer Experience, Marketing, and Investment Facilitation Group, following her appointment as Singapore Tourism Board's (STB) new Chief Executive starting 1 June.

Ow will succeed Keith Tan, the current STB Chief Executive.

During her tenure as Executive Vice President, Ow transformed the EDB's business-to-business sales and marketing model and drove the global promotion of Singapore's business brand and EDB's marketing and communications in key international markets.

She then led her teams to raise new investments from foreign companies by enhancing the board's customer engagement capabilities.

Before EDB, Ow became STB's Deputy Chief Executive and led the Experience Development and Corporate groups to ensure that Singapore has a strong line-up of quality tourism products that would put the country on the map for hosting premier events and attracting crucial tourism investments.
