Singapore Tourism Board joins Asia Cruise Association

STB committed to work with the ACA to help drive development of Asian cruise industry.

The Asia Cruise Association (ACA) welcomes Singapore Tourism Board (STB) as its newest member. Founded by leading cruise lines which include Azamara Club Cruises, Celebrity Cruises, Costa Cruises, Cunard, Princess Cruises, Royal Caribbean International, Silversea Cruises and Star Cruises, ACA is the largest cruise association dedicated to the promotion and growth of the cruise industry in Asia. STB’s joining is a boost to ACA’s ongoing membership drive and its efforts to champion new developments for the industry.

ACA Chairman Rama Rebbapragada said, “ACA is honoured to have STB as a member, as we recognise that national tourism organisations are instrumental in promoting the development and growth of cruise tourism. With STB on board as a pioneer NTO member, we believe this can help catalyse our regional national tourism organisations to join hands with us in developing a cruise-friendly environment and attractive port destinations for cruise tourism in Asia.”

“The cruise industry in Asia is now at an exciting phase of development with tremendous growth opportunities. In tandem with Singapore’s aspiration to be a cruise hub of Asia, STB is committed to work with the ACA and regional countries to help drive the development of the Asian cruise industry through working with stakeholders to build a cruise-friendly environment, develop enticing itineraries, and promote Asia and Singapore as must-visit destinations for cruise tourism. We believe that ACA’s initiatives will further develop Singapore’s cruise industry as well as raise the profile of cruising in Asia. Such joint initiatives will help establish Asia as a key destination on the global cruise map," says Mr Remy Choo, Deputy Director, Cruise, of the Singapore Tourism Board.

In broadening its cruise industry’s reach and supporting local port developments in Asia, ACA is engaging NTOs in the region actively. Potential alliances with regional NTOs and associations are underway for ACA. In addition, ACA is planning to roll out in the next few weeks training programmes in the region for travel agents in partnership with NTOs and associations.
