Singapore has the most shortest-serving CEOs in the world: report

The city-state ranked 118th out of 122 countries.

Singaporean CEOs had a median tenure of only 3.1 years, among the five shortest terms worldwide, according to a report by BusinessFinancing.co.uk.

The city-state tied for the third country with where CEOs stay in their roles the shortest alongside Saudi Arabia and Uzbekistan. CEOs in Azerbaijan and Denmark were the shortest serving at 2.8 and 2.9 years, respectively.

Singapore ranked 118th overall out of the 122 countries sampled.

Meanwhile, the top five countries with the longest tenure for CEOs were: Lebanon (8.5 years); Turkmenistan (7.9 years); Greece (7.7 years); China (6.8 years); and Italy (6.7 years).

The report was based on a sample of 100,000 CEOs active on LinkedIn across 122 countries worldwide.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
