Workers unveil top 3 digitalisation initiatives they want from employers

Full-time and part-time workers have the same preference.

More than three in 10 workers in Singapore want time off work to upgrade or upskill to keep up with the digital transformation journeys of their respective organisations, data from Reeracoen showed.

Most of the full-time employees who want to upskill are most familiar with SkillsFuture amongst upskilling platforms available (205/267), followed by Workforce SG (119/267), Udemy (58/267), Microsoft Learner (56/267), and Grab (42/267).

Meanwhile, part-time employees are most familiar with SkillsFuture (27/41, Grab (16/41), and Workforce SG (12/41).

Apart from time off to upskills, employees –- whether full-time or part-time –- also want their companies to send them for external training (30%;  22%) and sponsor them scholarships (15%; 20%).

“As the world continues to digitalise, there will be an ever-increasing demand for different ways of working - and this is a trend that will likely continue in 2023 and beyond,” Kenji Naito, Reeracoen’s Group CEO, said. 

“To deal with this demand, Singapore-based companies must evolve by first understanding their local talent pool, otherwise, they will have to compete globally for talent, which would be expensive and unsustainable,” Naito added.
