Sea launches Singapore AI centre, targets 100 roles

The centre backs in-house models and Singapore hiring.

Sea has established an artificial intelligence Centre of Excellence in Singapore and expects it to create demand for at least 100 research and innovation roles over the next three years.

The New York-listed technology company said the centre was set up with support from Digital Industry Singapore and would deepen its push to become an AI-native company.

Sea said the centre will focus on foundational AI, scalable deployment of research into production systems, and the development of AI-native talent and operating models. The roles are expected to span AI research, engineering, and product development.

The company said the initiative will also expand the use of its in-house AI models, including Compass Max v3.5, a 245 billion-parameter large language model tailored for Southeast Asian languages and e-commerce use cases.
