Budget Direct Insurance eases GST burden, also adopts Singpass Mobile

E-vouchers with 9% GST savings will be offered when customers purchase a new car or motorcycle plan online.

Budget Direct Insurance announced an initiative to cover the entire 9% GST on motor insurance in response to the recent GST hike causing concerns amongst Singaporeans.

This strategic move is designed to offer customers better value, providing a 9% GST savings in e-vouchers when they purchase a new car or motorcycle insurance policy online.

“In the face of the GST rate increase from 7% to 9% in the last two years, Budget Direct is proud to offer a solution that directly addresses the concerns of some Singaporeans. Our full GST savings initiative is a commitment to delivering unbeatable value and a tangible benefit for customers during these challenging times,” Simon Birch, CEO of Budget Direct Insurance, said in a press release.

Digital enhancement

On top of its GST hike initiative, the company adopted the Singpass Mobile login service for easy access to online insurance accounts and was an early user of Myinfo, simplifying car insurance quotes using government data. 

The integration of PayNow QR and SGQR offers a convenient and efficient payment option, enhancing the customer experience. This feature extends to the claims process as well, allowing instant electronic payouts for motor and travel claims.

Notably, Budget Direct Insurance boasts its fast processes, delivering estimates in just 30 seconds, and has introduced an SMS option for policy purchase and renewal, ensuring speed and security.

In its quest for next-level customer service, Budget Direct Insurance collaborates with Genesys for call routing, ensuring efficient customer-executive matching and personalised interactions. 

The company also provides a multi-channel experience across voice, SMS, email, and social media for improved customer engagement.
