Trek starts delivery of FluCard upgrade for PLUS Corporation

The company to supply adaptation of FluCard , which makes contents on whiteboards interactive.

Trek 2000 International Ltd. (“Trek”), inventor and patent owner of the ThumbDrive TM, on Wednesday announced that it will start delivering customized FluCard to PLUS Corporation (“Plus”) from October 2011 onwards, a premier provider of leading-edge digital projectors and electronic Copy/White boards. Trek will deliver approximately 50K units of Flu Card to Plus in FY2012. It will have a positive financial impact on Trek’s FY2012 earnings.

Traditional Copy/White Boards enable users to write, scan and print through a built-in printer. With the customized version of Trek Flu Card that is inserted into the Copy/White Board SD Slot and/or USB interface, the contents in the Copy/White Board can be scanned and stored in the Flu Card. The contents in the Flu Card can be shared wirelessly with different host devices such as PC, Note book and Smart Phone instantly and simultaneously. With this new collaboration and state-of-the-art Flu Card’s technology, it will forgo the traditional form of printing on paper, according to a Trek report.

The move is an extension of the application of the Flu Card® beyond the digital camera to other consumer electronics and exemplifies the flexibility of the Flu Card.

By adapting the FluCard to enhance the existing functions of the White Board, we aim to make the user experience more seamless than before. To date, FluCard® has been largely used in imaging and cameras. As such, this marks the beginning of FluCard®’s innovative application into a wider spectrum of consumer electronics,” Mr Henn Tan, Executive Chairman and CEO of Trek, said.
