City Developments’ Kwek Leng Beng drops legal action against son
All the board members have decided to put aside their differences.
Business tycoon Kwek Leng Beng has dropped the lawsuit he filed against his son, Sherman Kwek, and other executives of City Developments Limited (CDL).
“I have decided that the legal action that was launched in regard to the Board resolutions taken since 7 February 2025 will be discontinued,” Leng Beng said in a statement.
The older Kwek said all the board members have agreed to put aside their differences and will all continue to focus on strengthening CDL’s business. This will include completing its developments across Singapore and globally, expanding brands under Millennium & Copthorne, continuing capital recycling initiative, and maximising shareholder value.
Following this announcement, Leng Beng said he would continue to be the company’s executive chairman, and his son would remain as the group chief executive officer. All current directors, including Jennifer Duong Young and Su Yen Wong, will also keep their posts in the board.
