Far East Orchard announces leadership changes in lodging business

Yang Zejian was appointed managing director of PBSA business.

Far East Orchard Limited has announced senior management changes across its lodging platform, covering hospitality and purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA), as part of its succession planning.

Effective 8 September 2025, Yang Zejian has been appointed managing director of the group’s PBSA business. He brings over 15 years of real estate investment and asset management experience in London and Singapore, and will lead the growth of the PBSA portfolio in the UK and other markets.

In hospitality, Mark Rohner has been redesignated deputy managing director of Far East Hospitality from 1 September 2025.  Currently chief operating officer, he will assume the role of Managing Director on 1 January 2026. He will oversee the business’s global expansion and overall performance.

As part of the transition, Arthur Kiong, managing director of Far East Hospitality, will remain in the role until 31 December 2025 before handing over to Rohner. Kiong will then serve as consultant from January to April 2026 before retiring.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
