SIA, Malaysia Airlines roll out first joint fare offering
The Singapore-KL route becomes first market under partnership approved in 2026.
Singapore Airlines (SIA) and Malaysia Airlines have launched joint fare products for travel between Singapore and Kuala Lumpur, marking the first customer-facing initiative under their strategic joint business partnership.
The airlines said the new fare products build on their existing codeshare arrangement and offer customers a wider range of fare options between the two cities, as well as access to the combined networks of both carriers, according to a joint media statement.
The carriers are also working towards introducing reciprocal lounge access, coordinated flight schedules and joint corporate travel arrangements as part of the partnership.
CEO of airline business, Malaysia Aviation Group Bryan Foong said the launch of the joint fare products marks an expansion of the airlines' commercial collaboration.
“By introducing joint fare products, we are giving our customers greater choice, improved flexibility and a more seamless travel experience,” said Foong.
Lee Lik Hsin, chief commercial officer fo SIA, said the joint fares expand the options available to travellers between Singapore and Kuala Lumpur.
“The introduction of joint fare products with Malaysia Airlines expands the range of fare options available to customers travelling between Singapore and Kuala Lumpur, offering more flexibility and convenience when planning their journeys,” said Lee.
The partnership was formalised in January 2026 after receiving regulatory approvals
Malaysia Airlines and SIA have progressively expanded their cooperation since signing a commercial cooperation framework agreement in October 2019.
The two carriers currently codeshare on services across Malaysia, Singapore, Europe and South Africa.
In February 2024, they introduced reciprocal earning and redemption between the Enrich and KrisFlyer frequent flyer programmes, allowing members to earn and redeem miles or points on selected flights operated by either airline.
