SP Mobility and Huawei to launch Singapore's fastest public EV charger
It has a maximum power rating of 480kW.
SP Mobility and Huawei have teamed up to deploy Singapore’s fastest public electric vehicle (EV) charger at Temasek Polytechnic.
The new ultra-fast charger uses liquid-cooled technology and can deliver over 200 km of range in just five minutes.
This is the first public deployment of Huawei’s 480kW ultra-fast DC charger in Singapore. It features at least four charging points and includes an integrated energy storage system to boost power supply during peak demand.
The launch follows a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed by SP Mobility, a subsidiary of SP Group, and Huawei to expand fast-charging infrastructure across the country.
The partnership targets both private and commercial EVs, including logistics fleets and buses.
“This charger sets a new benchmark for public charging in Singapore. We’re focused on scaling this technology to support high-usage vehicles,” said Dean Cher, Managing Director, Mobility at SP Group.
SP Mobility now operates 20 charging points at Temasek Polytechnic and over 120 in Tampines, with more to come.
The launch builds on Huawei’s 2024 agreement with EV-Electric (EVe), a subsidiary of the Land Transport Authority, to accelerate public EV charger deployment.
EVs made up 40% of all new car sales in Q1 2025, according to the LTA.
