Interactive Advertising Bureau SE Asia, Singapore appoints Loren Shuster as Council Chair

Ex-council chair Ken Mandel will step into the advisory role of Chairman Emeritus.

On the back of the recent release of the IAB Singapore Online Revenue Report announcing online spend for H1 2011 at S$60.31million, the Interactive Advertising Bureau Southeast Asia (IAB SE Asia) Singapore Chapter announced Thursday the new ten-person Leadership Council for 2012/2013, with Loren Shuster, Country Director-Singapore and Emerging Markets, Google, taking the reins as the new Chairman.

Says Shuster, “I am very honoured and excited to take on the Chairmanship of the IAB for the coming year. The IAB serves an important role to nurture the growth of the digital advertising industry in Singapore. I greatly look forward to working with such a distinguished and diverse group of digital industry leaders who make up the new Leadership Council. I would also like to thank Ken for his leadership, energy and commitment since founding the IAB two years ago.”

Former Chairman, Ken Mandel, MD-Asia Pacific, Buddy Media, will step into the advisory role of Chairman Emeritus as he continues to develop the international relationships and objectives of the organization that he helped establish in 2009. “This yet a another major milestone for the IAB SE Asia Singapore Chapter. It highlights our commitment to expand our leadership council with top notch industry executives. Loren has fantastic experience to lead the IAB to its next stage of growth and understands better than most the challenges CMO's face in Asia Pacific. I look forward to working with him, Reza and Joe in their new roles.”

Shuster will also receive the support of returning Council Members Reza Behnam, CEO of demand-side platform ADZ, and Joe Nguyen, VP SEA & India of digital marketing intelligence provider comScore as Vice-Chairs. Both Behnam and Nguyen have represented their companies as founding members of the IAB SE Asia, Singapore, and have held roles on the Leadership Council, according to an IAB SE Asia report.

Also returning as Members of the IAB Leadership Council are inSing Digital Media, Komli Media, MediaCorp, Microsoft Advertising, and Singapore Press Holdings. New members include CBS Interactive and Innity.
