Singtel's Thai unit wins arbitration dispute

Thai state-owned TOT has previously ordered AIS for additional revenue share in roaming service.

Singtel’s Thai associate, GSM mobile operator Advanced Info Service (AIS) has won the ruling over its arbitration dispute with Thai state-owned telecommunications company TOT.

In September 2018, TOT claimed for additional revenue share from roaming service based on the 7th amendment of the main concession agreement over the period of July 2013 to September 2015. The company ordered a total amount of $725m (Baht 16.3b) with a penalty interest rate of 1.25% per month.

The arbitration pronounced that AIS did not breach the agreement.

TOT will be given 90 days to file its revocation.
