Changi Airport’s passenger traffic reaches 4.87 million in September

The September 2023 record is 89% of the September 2019 level.

Changi Airport handled 4.87 million passengers in September 2023, or 89% of the passenger movements in the same month in 2019.

From July to September (3Q23), Changi Airport saw 15.3 million passenger movements,  89% of the 3Q19 record.

The top five drivers of passenger traffic for 3Q23 by alphabetical order are Australia, China, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand.

In terms of aircraft movements, the airport handled a total of 27,800 landings and take-offs in September 2023, or about 88% of the September 2019 level. 

Meanwhile, airfreight throughput stood at 154,000 tonnes in September.

From July to September (3Q23), airfreight throughput totalled 451,000 tonnes, a decline of 4% YoY.

In 3Q23, Changi’s top cargo markets were Australia, China, Hong Kong, India and the United States of America.

 As of 1 October, 94 airlines operate over 6,400 weekly scheduled flights at Changi Airport, connecting Singapore to 151 cities in 49 countries and territories worldwide.
