DHL Express deploys 5th DHL-SIA Boeing 777 freighter in Singapore

This will boost the trade between APAC and the Americas.

DHL Express started the services for the fifth and final Boeing 777 freighter at the South Asia hub in Singapore, reinforcing connectivity between the Asia Pacific and the Americas.

In a statement, DHL Express said the freighter, which carries a dual DHL-Singapore Airlines livery, has a payload capability of 102 tonnes. Overall, the five freighters have a payload capacity of 1,224 tonnes.

"Both Asia and the United States are major economic powerhouses with significant trade flows. We continue to see significant demand for shipments between the two regions due to a huge volume of cross-border e-commerce and trade activities. In the last four years, shipment volume between Asia Pacific (excluding China) and the U.S. increased by more than 20%,” said Ken Lee, CEO for Asia Pacific, DHL Express.

“As we seek to improve trade connectivity between Asia and the United States, deploying these five freighters enables us to provide efficient and rapid logistics solutions for Asia Pacific shippers,” Lee added.

DHL said three of the five freighters, starting in December 2023, navigate Bangkok/Taipei-Incheon/Nagoya-Cincinnatti-Honolulu-Sydney-Singapore route seven times a week.

The other two, meanwhile, fly the Singapore-Nagoya-Los Angeles-Honolulu-Singapore route five times a week.

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
