NTUC job fair offers 1,400 roles to retrenched Jetstar Asia staff
A total of 38 employers took part in the exercise.
More than 500 retrenched Jetstar Asia employees were offered new opportunities through a three-day job-matching exercise coordinated by the National Trades Union Congress (NTUC) and its partners.
The initiative, held from 17 to 19 June at Jetstar Asia’s premises, was jointly organised by NTUC, the Singapore Manual & Mercantile Workers’ Union (SMMWU), NTUC’s Aviation and Aerospace cluster, NTUC’s Employment and Employability Institute (e2i), and the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS).
A total of 38 employers took part in the exercise, with 14 present on site across the three days. Together, they offered more than 1,400 vacancies, covering roles for pilots, cabin crew, engineering, air hub operations, safety, and quality assurance.
Employers included the Singapore Airlines Group (including Scoot), SMRT Corporation, SATS, and Changi Airport Group.
NTUC Secretary-General Ng Chee Meng visited Changi Airport Terminal 1 on 18 June to meet affected workers. He said the labour movement and its partners would continue to support staff through job matching, career coaching, and the NTUC Job Security Council.
