SIA’s passenger traffic inches up 0.5% YoY in February

The group posted a passenger load factor of 86.5%.

Singapore Airlines (SIA) passenger traffic rose by 0.5% year-on-year in February, outpacing the capacity increase of 0.2%.

The group posted a passenger load factor (PLF) of 86.5%, up 0.2 percentage points. SIA’s and Scoot’s monthly PLFs were 85.8% and 89.5%, respectively.

Total passenger carriage was 1.7% higher than last year at 3.1 million.

Despite the post-holiday season lull, cargo carriage was up 2.6% YoY due to increased cargo flow within East Asia. With cargo flows to the Americas and Europe regions down, overall cargo loads dropped by 4.9%.

Cargo capacity was 4% higher for the month, resulting in a load factor decrease of 4.8 percentage points at 51.9%.

In route expansions, Scoot launched services to Shantou in January 2025. The group’s passenger network covered 129 destinations in 36 countries and territories. SIA served 79 destinations, whilst Scoot served 72. The cargo network reached 133 destinations in 37 countries.
