Singapore Airlines, Philippine Airlines enhance flight options in domestic and global destinations

SIA will be linked to Philippine routes whilst PAL will codeshare on six European cities.

Singapore Airlines (SIA) and Philippine Airlines (PAL) collaborated on a new codeshare partnership that allows both services to improve flight options for passengers travelling between Singapore and the Philippines aside from other domestic and international destinations.

The new codeshare will start on flights between Singapore and Manila by the fourth quarter of 2023, all subject to regulatory approvals.

SIA will also codeshare on PAL flights from Manila to 27 destinations in the Philippines. PAL will also codeshare on SIA flights to six European destinations: Copenhagen, Frankfurt, Milan, Paris, Rome, and Zurich.

The agreement is exploring a possible expansion of codeshares on other SIA routes in Europe, as well as in Australia, India, New Zealand, and South Africa.

“This agreement enables PAL and SIA to work more closely together, and find ways to offer our customers enhanced travel connections between Singapore and the Philippines. This will support the growing demand for both business and leisure travel between the Philippines and Singapore, and beyond that to our key markets around the world,” Goh Choon Phong, CEO of Singapore Airlines, said.

Rollout of European codeshare sectors will span across PAL and SIA channels, including travel agents for the coming weeks.

With PAL’s codeshare, it will be the first-ever air link to Copenhagen and Milan by a Philippine-based carrier. Alongside it, PAL is reopening routes to Frankfurt, Paris, Rome, and Zurich, though codeshare services.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
