Singapore seals open skies deal with Belize

Airlines from the two will have no restrictions on capacity and frequency.

The Ministry of Transport has announced the completion of Singapore's Open Skies Agreement with Belize.

Under the deal, airlines from the two countries will be able to fly any number of services between both countries as well as beyond to any third country, with no restrictions on capacity, frequency, aircraft type and routing schedules. More so, cargo carriers will be able to base aircraft in each other’s countries and use it as a hub for operations to any third country.

Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Minister for Transport Khaw Boon Wan and Belize’s Minister of Tourism and Civil Aviation Jose Manuel Heredia inked the Air Services Agreement.

“The conclusion of this ASA reflects the warm bilateral ties between Singapore and Belize. The fully liberal air services framework established will allow carriers from both countries to respond quickly to market opportunities," Khaw noted.

With the Singapore-Belize ASA, Singapore has concluded Air Services Agreements with more than 130 States and Territories, of which over 60 are Open Skies Agreements.
