IES Singapore launches $210,000 scholarship fund for eng’g college students

They also inked an MOU with Singapore Space Technology Limited.

The Institute of Engineers, Singapore (IES) has launched a scholarship fund for tertiary students pursuing an engineering degree.

The IES Scholarship Fund will disburse $38,000 annually towards scholarship recipients and finance engineering students studying at the Institute of Technical Education (ITE), polytechnics, and universities.

The fund is expected to reach $210,000 in size. It will be made up of donations raised by IES through golf tournaments.

IES has also partnered with the NTUC to hold an inaugural IES Career Fair during the National Engineers Day (NED) 2024 held at ITE College Central.

Furthermore, IES has inked a memorandum of understanding with Singapore Space Technology Limited (SSTL) to open up job and entrepreneurial opportunities in space in Singapore and the wider region.

Under the MOU, IES engineers will attend conferences, workshops, and seminars on topics such as space engineering, data science in space technology, renewable energy, and infrastructure engineering innovations.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
