Cognizant wins at Singapore Business Review Management Excellence Awards 2025

The company’s transformative leadership and high-impact teams drive AI-led growth and public sector digital innovation.

Cognizant has won two awards at this year’s Singapore Business Review Management Excellence Awards, Executive of the Year - IT Services and Team of the Year - IT Services, recognising the company’s leadership in AI-driven transformation under Thomas Mathew and the Public Sector team’s critical role in accelerating Singapore’s Smart Nation agenda.

Since assuming leadership of Cognizant’s ASEAN & Greater China business in 2024, Thomas has positioned the organisation as a technology and AI leader. As a public speaker and contributor to regional dialogues on the future of work, including the World Economic Forum, Thomas champions human-centric AI adoption and ecosystem collaboration as defining levers for Southeast Asia’s competitiveness. His article, “AI beyond the buzz: Re-imagining business in Southeast Asia,” articulates an AI strategy that aims to deliver productivity and growth whilst respecting cultural and regulatory diversity across the region. His co-written white paper, “Unleashing the power of Malaysia’s human capital in the AI age,” provides executive insights for boards, C-Suite and policymakers on AI talent transformation and innovation.

Meanwhile, Cognizant’s Public Sector team has supported the Singapore Government since 2014, co-developing key components of the Singapore Government Tech Stack, modernising legacy platforms and delivering AI-enabled solutions for national digital platforms. Beyond technology delivery, the team convenes leadership dialogues, cross-agency forums and innovation workshops that shape reusable digital components and foster a culture of public sector co-innovation.

The Singapore Business Review Management Excellence Awards celebrate visionary executives, innovative teams and inclusive workplace cultures that exemplify excellence and social impact. Cognizant’s dual win in 2025 reflects both the company’s bold leadership in AI-led transformation and its enduring commitment to building skills, trust and shared progress across the region.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

If you've been wondering whether SBR could work for your company — yes, probably.

A lot of the companies we partner with started as readers. They'd been following our coverage for a while, saw their own customers and competitors in it, and eventually asked the obvious question: could we do something with you? The answer is usually yes. The shape of it depends on what you're trying to do.

The options are broader than most people assume — thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. Some partners use one channel; most use a mix. We figure out the right combination by starting with your brief, not with our rate card.

So if the question has been on your mind, here's the easy way to ask it.

We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how. It's a better use of everyone's time.
