VETRESKA bags two accolades at SBR Management Excellence Awards 2024

The luxury pet brand, which is trusted by pet owners, has redefined pet care with its innovative range of products and services.

VETRESKA earned recognition at the SBR Management Excellence Awards 2024, winning the Executive of the Year - Retail and Team of the Year - Retail categories. These accolades highlight the strategic leadership of its co-founder and CEO, Donald Kng, and the vision of its management team that has driven growth for the company.

Leading the premium pet product market

Under the direction of Kng, VETRESKA continues to set new benchmarks in the pet product industry, experience remarkable growth and expand its international presence.

By staying attuned to market trends and consumer preferences, Kng recognised an opportunity to target financially independent women who are passionate about their pets and seek products that blend functionality with luxury.
VETRESKA also expanded its reach beyond Mainland China to markets in Japan, South Korea, United States, South America, Europe, and Oceania, and forged over 10 key collaborations with renowned global brands.

Moreover, VETRESKA’s product range—which includes stylish pet furniture, chic bowls, interactive toys, and elegant accessories—continues to impress with its unique designs and use of high-quality materials.

VETRESKA has also experienced rapid and consistent growth under Kng’s guidance and expanded rapidly across the globe. Between 2019 and 2023, the company recorded a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 35% in Gross Merchandise Value, with sales nearly doubling year-on-year.

Additionally, VETRESKA’s overall revenue grew by 10% to 30%, and its gross profit margin improved by 10% over the past five years. Now, VETRESKA’s products are available in over 20 countries through a network of 40,000+ key retailers, 60+ distributors, and major e-commerce platforms in US and Japan, amongst others.

Driving exceptional growth

The VETRESKA management team—consisting of Kng along with the Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) and Chief Commercial Officer (CCO)—has played a pivotal role in shaping the company's rapid growth. Their shared commitment to innovation delivered significant financial value for stakeholders and fostered a resilient, results-driven culture across the organisation.

With the leadership team, VETRESKA has successfully navigated several challenges in the industry amidst competition and ever-changing consumer demands. The initiatives spearheaded by the management team include targeting a niche market, investing in market research and understanding customer needs.

VETRESKA also focussed its expansion on high-margin international markets and prioritised the development of a strong distribution network to reach consumers in new regions. The company’s focus on product innovation has been central to its success as well.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
