Chart of the Day: Retail space prices down 4% in Q1

Compared to a 0.2% growth in the previous quarter.

The latest figures from Urban Redevelopment Authority revealed that prices of retail spaces decreased by 4% in the first quarter of the year

The price index for the quarter were down to 117.7, compared to 122.6. Meanwhile, rentals of retail spaces declined by 2.9% in the said quarter, worse than the 1.2% decrease in the previous quarter.

As at the end of 1Q17, there was a total supply of 606,000 sq m GFA of retail space from projects in the pipeline, compared with the 595,000 sq m GFA of retail space in the pipeline in the previous quarter.
