ESR Group breaks ground on $1.3b commercial site in Japan

The site has nine storeys and a gross floor area of 433,000 square metres.

ESR Group Limited has broken ground on $1.3b (US$1b) ESR Kawanishi Distribution Centre 3, the third and final ready-built facility of its ESR Kawanishi Distribution and Techno Park in Osaka, Japan.

With nine storeys and a gross floor area of 433,000 square metres, the site is the group’s largest asset and the largest logistics facility developed in Japan.

The site has a land area of around 50 hectares and will serve as the blueprint for full-service, modern, large-scale logistics assets.

It will also cater to build-to-suit uses, including specialised hazardous materials facilities, manufacturing, and automated high-bay warehousing.

Additionally, ESR Kawanishi has a provision to feature a large-scale Battery Energy Storage System project.

Further, it will offer amenities such as ‘R:KIDS’, a complimentary daycare centre that aims to support women returning to the workforce.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
