SATS terminates lease on Jurong Innovation District site

It is in the process of evaluating sites to relocate the SATS Food Hub.

SATS is terminating its 30-year lease term for its SATS Food Hub’s (SFH) Bulim Lane location at Jurong Innovation District.

In an SGX filing, SATS said that it re-evaluated its plans for the food hub, noting “disruptions in the global supply chain” which in turn led to rising costs of materials, construction, and labour.

“After careful consideration, SATS has engaged JTC and other relevant parties on the plans for its SFH as part of a longer-term review. In relation thereto, the company has entered into an agreement with JTC to terminate the lease,” SATS said.

SATS said that it is in the process of evaluating sites to relocate its proposed SATS Food Hub to an alternate location.

SATS said that it is still committed to building the food hub operations in Singapore.

The SATS Open Innovation Centre, meanwhile,  will continue to operate from its unique premises at the Arts House.

The company does not expect the lease termination to have a material impact on its assets and earnings for the financial year ending 31 March 2025.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
