Savills to market 25% stake in Edinburgh’s St James Quarter

Savills was also appointed to market W Edinburgh's freehold disposal.

Nuveen Real Estate appointed Savills to market a 25% interest in Edinburgh’s St James Quarter.

Completed in 2021, the property provides residents and tourists with a world-class destination to shop, eat, drink, play, and stay.

The 1.7 million sq ft mixed-use property includes an 850,000 sq ft retail galleria anchored by John Lewis, which benefits from a footfall of over 18 million per year.

St James Quarter also provides 1,600 off-street parking spaces, which make up 75% of the city's off-street parking.

In addition, the W Edinburgh hotel, a 244-room full-service asset, is central to St James Quarter. Savills and Eastdil have been appointed to market its freehold disposal. The hotel opened in November 2023 and is managed by Marriott International.

The 174,300 sq ft hotel boasts exceptional visibility with its ten-story building and 360-degree rooftop, offering unobstructed views of Edinburgh's old town, Calton Hill, and Holyrood Park.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
