Shophouse transactions fall 24.5% YoY in 9M23

Transaction value likewise fell, dropping 17.1% YoY.

The number of shophouses sold in the first nine months of 2023 was 24.5% YoY lower than the same period last year, data from Huttons showed.

In 9M23, 117 shophouses were sold. In the same period, transaction value fell 17.1% YoY to $1.1b from $1.3b in 9M22.

In 3Q23, volume fell 21.3% QoQ to 37 shophouses, whilst value dropped 26.6% YoY to $371.1m.

District 8 was the most popular district among shophouse investors in 3Q23, accounting for 24.3% of the transactions.
