Datin Seri Umayal Eswaran

Born in Sri Lanka and raised in a home that valued generosity and service, Datin Seri Umayal Eswaran is a passionate advocate for addressing social issues through impactful initiatives. As Chairperson of RYTHM Foundation, the corporate social responsibility arm of the QI Group, she leads transformative projects in education, women’s empowerment, and community development across Asia.
Under her leadership, the foundation established Taarana School, a dedicated centre for children with special education needs, bridging gaps in resources and support for families. Through the Maharani School Programme and Maharani Learning Lab, the Foundation empowers young women with the tools to overcome social barriers and realise their full potential.
Her vision extends to holistic community development. The Community Adoption Programme has demonstrated remarkable success, such as the academic and personal growth of its beneficiaries in Sabah. Additionally, the Foundation has actively supported the Kensiu Indigenous Orang Asli community through initiatives that enhance education and eco-tourism opportunities, preserving their heritage while fostering sustainable livelihoods.
