SG firms concentrate $866b capital in Asian markets

Total outbound capital surged 7.6% over the last 12 months reaching a $1.65t peak.

Asia was the top destination for Singapore’s outbound investments in 2024, with total investments reaching $866b, or 52.4% of total direct investment abroad (DIA), according to the Singapore Department of Statistics.

Europe followed with $380b (23.0%), whilst South and Central America and the Caribbean accounted for $219b (13.2%). Other regions included Oceania ($95b), North America ($69b), and Africa ($25b).

Total corporate DIA rose to $1.65t in 2024, an increase of 7.6% from 2023, marking the fifth year of growth.
