Local executives eye 2024 elections more impactful than previous years

New research by G-P has found that Singapore executives are keeping an eye on the results of global elections. Despite 45% of Singaporean executives being concerned about changes to local employment laws and regulations, 98% of Singaporean executives plan to expand.

Meanwhile 76% want to expand in APAC and 44% want to expand in EMEA. Global elections may disrupt business strategy plans and dramatically change the course of business strategy.

There are still 20% of Singapore executives who say that improving productivity is the priority their organization is focused on over the next 12 months. Others, around 45% of Singaporean executives are delaying implementing new technologies until the results of the elections are in.

Global elections may affect specific markets so majority of the executives are avoiding doing business in certain markets.

While it’s inevitable that regulation and employment laws may witness changes off the back of elections, businesses should not be deterred from pursuing their expansion plans. By leveraging technology and working with the right partners, businesses can equip themselves with actionable real-time insights to set themselves up for success.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
