950,000 HDB households to get GST Voucher - U-Save rebates

This is part of the $900m Household Support Package for Budget 2021.

The Ministry of Finance Singapore revealed that 950,000 HDB households are to receive their quarterly GST Voucher - U-Save rebates this January.

Overall, the regular U-Save and U-Save Special Paymounts equate to $460m in total U-Save rebates. This also makes up part of the $900m Household Support Package for Budget 2021, which aims to provide additional support to families.

According to the release, the average household in 1-room and 2-room HDB flats, together with the GSTV - U-Save Special Payment and the January payout, would receive rebates equal to almost 4.5 to 6 months of their utility bills this FY.

In the case of households living in 3-room and 4-room HDB flats, rebates would have equalled around 1.5 to 3 months of their utility bills in the same period.

Values received by the households range from $55 to $95.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
