Chart of the Day: Manufacturing output expected to grow 16% until September

Manufacturers are currently on the optimistic side.

This chart from DBS Group Research revealed that overall, a net weighted balance of 7% of manufacturers anticipate a favourable business situation for the period April to September 2017, compared to 1Q17.

Meanwhile, a net weighted balance of 16% of manufacturers expects to see a 16% rise in output from April-September this year.

This is an improvement from the -4% growth expected growth from January to June 2017.

The worst forecast was seen during July-December 2015 when firms expect output to slump 9%.
