Consumer price index down 0.1% in June
But it was 0.8% higher than a year earlier, with food and transport prices rising.
Consumer price index (CPI) fell by 0.1% in June 2025 compared to the previous month, but rose 0.8% from the same month in 2024, according to the latest data from the Department of Statistics
The princes of food, transport, clothing & footwear, housing & utilities, education, and health all rose in June compared to a year earlier.
Food prices are up 1% YoY during the month, whilst transport prices were up 2% YoY.
Clothing & footwear, and housing & utilities prices rose by 2.2% YoY and 0.9% YoY, respectively. Education prices and health prices also rose during the month, by 0.5% and 2.8%, respectively.
In contrast, the prices of goods and services related to information & communication, household durables & services, and recreation, sport & culture all fell in June.
Information & communication division logged prices 2.4% lower than a year ago. Recreation, sport, & culture division prices were 2.6% YoY lower; whilst household durables & services registered a 0.4% YoY decrease in prices.
CPI of the miscellaneous goods and services division remained unchanged in June compared to both a year earlier and from May 2025.
