EnterpriseSG launches 2035 standards roadmap

Gan Kim Yong announced the plan on 11 June at the gala dinner.

Enterprise Singapore has launched a new Standards and Conformance 2035 roadmap to help Singapore companies grow, compete overseas and strengthen trust in international trade.

The roadmap was announced by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade and Industry Gan Kim Yong on 11 June at the Standards and Conformance Gala Dinner.

EnterpriseSG said the roadmap comes as businesses face more complex global conditions, including geopolitical tensions, changing trade rules and rapid technological shifts.

It said standards and conformance can help companies gain market access earlier, strengthen supply chains and build credibility with overseas partners.

The roadmap is built on three main areas. The first is to support economic growth by helping companies adopt standards and achieve certification earlier, especially in sectors such as artificial intelligence, precision medicine and offshore wind.

The second is to strengthen Singapore’s standards and conformance ecosystem, including the testing, inspection and certification sector. The third is to deepen Singapore’s role as a trusted partner in regional and global standards networks.

EnterpriseSG said the roadmap will also support areas such as public health and safety, sustainability, business resilience and digital trust.

EnterpriseSG said companies in Singapore have already used standards to support growth.

EtonHouse International Education Group adopted ISO/IEC 27001 for information security management and estimated that this raised the operational capacity of its IT and compliance functions by 20%.
