Singtel named Singapore’s best mobile network: Opensignal

StarHub led overall download and upload speeds, whilst M1 shared the 5G download-speed award.

Singtel was named Singapore’s Best Network after leading key measures of reliability, consistency and 5G coverage, according to Opensignal’s July 2026 Mobile Network Experience Report.

The operator secured nine awards, comprising six outright and three joint wins.

Singtel recorded a Reliability score of 927 points on a 1,000-point scale, 18 points above second-placed SIMBA. It also led Consistent Quality with a score of 84.7%, seven percentage points ahead of StarHub.

Opensignal’s Best Network award recognises operators providing a strong overall experience nationally. Singtel qualified by winning Reliability and Consistent Quality outright and sharing the Time on Network award.

Speed leadership, however, belonged to StarHub.

StarHub recorded the fastest overall download speed at 172.7 Mbps, around 8 Mbps ahead of Singtel’s 164.4 Mbps. M1 and SIMBA posted speeds of 146.6 Mbps and 25 Mbps, respectively.

StarHub also took the Upload Speed award from Singtel after its result increased by 5 Mbps, or more than 20%, from the previous report. It recorded 25.3 Mbps, compared with Singtel’s 24.2 Mbps.

For 5G download speeds, M1 and StarHub were statistically tied for first place with scores of 305.5 Mbps and 302.4 Mbps, respectively. Both were about 9 Mbps ahead of Singtel.

Opensignal attributed the close results to M1 and StarHub sharing 5G Standalone infrastructure through their joint network company, Antina.

Singtel led 5G upload speeds at 34.4 Mbps, around 2 Mbps ahead of statistically tied M1 and StarHub.

The operator also retained the 5G Availability award, with users connected to 5G for 79.9% of the time. StarHub ranked second at 70%, narrowing the gap after its score increased by 12 percentage points from the previous report.

Singtel recorded the widest 5G footprint in populated areas, scoring 9.5 out of 10 for 5G Coverage. M1, SIMBA and StarHub were statistically tied for second with scores between 8.9 and 9.

All four operators were statistically tied for Time on Network, with users connected to a 3G, 4G or 5G signal for between 99.3% and 99.5% of the time.

In application experience, StarHub led overall Video Experience with 74.3 points. Singtel and StarHub shared the Games Experience award, whilst Singtel retained the outright lead in 5G Games with 93.2 points.

Singapore’s mobile operators have achieved nationwide 5G Standalone coverage. M1 and StarHub have completed their transition from 5G Non-Standalone services, whilst Singtel retains a small proportion of customers on the older network architecture.

Opensignal said users on 5G Standalone networks were experiencing faster downloads and more consistent service than those still using 5G Non-Standalone connections.

The report assessed the real-world mobile experience of users on M1, SIMBA, Singtel and StarHub over 90 days from 1 April to 29 June 2026.
