StarHub names Matthew Williams as next CEO

He previously held senior consumer roles at Optus and Vodafone.

Matthew Williams will take over as StarHub’s CEO on 1 January 2027, succeeding Nikhil Eapen, who will conclude his tenure at the end of the year.

He will serve as CEO-designate from 24 June, alongside his current roles as deputy CEO and chief of the Consumer Business Group.

Williams joined StarHub in May 2025 to lead its consumer business before being appointed deputy CEO on 1 May 2026.

Before his tenure, Williams was managing director for Consumer Business and Customer Solutions at Optus in Australia from 2019 to 2025. 

He was also the consumer business unit director at Vodafone New Zealand from 2013 to 2018.

He holds a Master of Business Administration with distinction from London Business School, a Master of Arts with First Class Honours, and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Auckland.
