IMDA signs digital economy cooperation MOU with China
Agreement covers data policy, funding and talent exchanges
The Infocomm Media Development Authority of Singapore (IMDA) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with China’s National Data Administration (NDA) and the Chongqing Municipal People’s Government to strengthen digital cooperation.
Under the MOU, the parties will share information on digital and data policies, continue the operationalisation of the China (Chongqing)-Singapore Information Communication Media Joint Innovation Development Fund, and promote business collaboration in areas such as artificial intelligence, blockchain and data analytics. The agreement also supports joint exploration of a “Digital New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor.
The cooperation framework also includes exchanges and capacity-building initiatives for digital economy professionals, aimed at supporting skills development and cross-border collaboration.
The agreement builds on existing cooperation mechanisms, including the China-Singapore (Chongqing) Demonstration Initiative on Strategic Connectivity – New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor (CCI-ILSTC) and the bilateral Digital Policy Dialogue, reinforcing ongoing engagement in the digital economy.
