SG, Vietnam ink 12 deals for digital talent development and investment for businesses

One of the memorandum of understanding offers upskilling for 5,000 businesses.

Over 12 MOUs were signed between Singapore and Vietnam in a bid to improve the operations of business communities between the two markets.

In a statement, the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI) said Second Minister of Trade and Industry Dr Tan See Leng conducted an official visit to sign the 12 agreements and the  SBF-United Overseas Bank (UOB) Joint Corporate Social Responsibility Initiative launch.

Under the SBF-UOB initiative, SBF and UOB will sponsor $50,000 to the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH). It will train 1,000 students with skills and hands-on experience to grow their digital expertise.

MTI said the scope of the MOUS include sustainability, digitalisation, financial services, and human capital development.

About 420 companies and other businesses attended the event physically and virtually, MTI said.
