Over 1.5 million Singaporeans to receive up to $850 GSTV-Cash in August

Around 690,000 eligible seniors will also receive up to $450 MediSave top-up.

More than 1.5 million adult Singaporeans will receive up to $850 in cash from the GSTV-Cash program in August, the Ministry of Finance (MoF) announced in a press release.

The MoF also announced that it will raise the assessable income threshold to $39,000 for GSTV-Cash starting this August from $34,000 to maintain the coverage of the scheme, given that the incomes of Singaporeans have improved.

About 690,000 eligible Singaporean seniors will also receive up to $450 in MediSave top-ups, which will automatically be credited to their CPF MediSave accounts.

The eligible seniors will receive $150 to $450, depending on their age and the annual value of their home.

Eligible recipients of the GSTV–Cash will automatically receive their payment starting from 6 August if they have signed up for government disbursement schemes previously.

Those who have not previously signed up for the GSTV scheme can do so at the govbenefits website (govbenefits.gov.sg) by 13 July to receive their payment in August 2025.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
