Singapore to collaborate with Indonesia on energy and food security

The parties will particularly work on clean energy and sustainability.

Singapore will explore collaboration with Indonesia in areas such as energy security and food security, Prime Minister Lawrence Wong said.

In a press conference, Wong mentioned discussing with Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto how Indonesia and Singapore can work together in the agriculture and food sectors by exchanging best practices and sharing technology for mutual benefit.

In energy security, Wong said Singapore and Indonesia like to work on clean energy and sustainability.

"This can be a new growth engine for both our countries, especially when we realise cross-border energy exports as well as cross-border carbon capture and storage projects in the coming years," Wong said.

Meanwhile, Wong said Singapore will back President Prabowo’s human capital development plans, which include expanding training and exchanges between students, teachers, officials, and young professionals.
