Fintech startup GoBear's two co-founders to step down

This follows the resignation of former CEO Andre Hesselink in 2018.

Financial comparison platform GoBear has revealed that two of its founders CTO Ivonne Bojoh and CCO Marnix Zwart will leave the startup by the end of the year.

"We can confirm that GoBear has recently made personnel changes within the organisation. Such decisions are never taken lightly, but are not uncommon for a growth stage company in a rapidly changing marketplace,” a spokesperson for the firm said.

“GoBear is continuing to focus on long-term growth in Asia Pacific, following successful funding rounds."

In July 2018, one of its founders, Andre Hesselink, resigned as CEO of GoBear and was succeeded by Adrian Chng. Hesselink is currently the Special Adviser to the startup and to its shareholders Dutch venture capital fund Walvis Participaties and financial services provider Aegon N.V.

Their most recent funding round was last May, when they secured about $108.96m (US$80m) from Walvis and Aegon N.V.

Founded in 2015, GoBear is a platform that compares insurance plans, credit cards, loans and banking products for its users.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
