IBF hailed as Jobs Development Partner for finance sector

IBF, MAS will conduct surveys on potential hiring, losses within the sector.

The National Jobs Council has named the Institute of Banking and Finance (IBF) as the Jobs Development Partner (JDP) for the financial services sector.

The IBF, as the JDP, will provide Singaporeans with access to opportunities in the financial services sector.

In collaboration with the Monetary Authority of Singapore, IBF will conduct six monthly surveys on opportunities and potential job losses within the sector, according to a joint media release.

“Using the survey data on potential job losses, IBF will proactively reach out to the relevant financial institutions and offer support to their affected staff through preemptive reskilling and possible redeployment within the firm or the industry.”

Through more granular information on hiring opportunities, IBF will find better training and attachment programmes for mid-career professionals shifting careers.

IBF will also expand its pool of professional career coaches with senior financial services practitioners as well as hold targeted career fairs.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
