IBF, WSG launch immersion programme

This would help professionals start a technology career in the financial sector.

The Institute of Banking and Finance Singapore (IBF) and Workforce Singapore (WSG) launched the second intake of the Technology in Finance Immersion Programme (TFIP), according to an announcement.

This aims to help mid-career professionals kickstart a technology career in the financial services sector and cater to the growing demand for technology professionals and need to develop local expertise within the sector.

This follows a successful pilot launched last April, with 70 individuals currently undergoing on-the-job training across four tracks—Cloud Computing, Cybersecurity, Data Analytics and Full Stack Development.

An additional track in artificial intelligence will be added and training slots will be doubled to 140, with a total of 13 financial institutions commiting to this year’s programme.

Successful applicants will undergo rigorous structured training and on-the-job training
with participating financial institutions for up to two years.

TFIP trainees will receive a monthly training allowance of $5,500 for the entire duration of the programme, which will commence in October 2020. Online applications are open until 11 May.
