Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Singapore appoints Tham Kah Poh as CEO
Prior to joining ICPAS, Dr Tham was Director of Strategic Planning and Policy and Chief Information Officer (CIO) of the National Heritage Board.
According to a release, the national accountancy body, the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Singapore, has appointed Dr Tham Kah Poh, FCPA Singapore, as its first Chief Executive Officer.
Prior to joining ICPAS, Dr Tham was Director of Strategic Planning and Policy and Chief Information Officer (CIO) of the National Heritage Board, where she was responsible for overseeing policy and research, strategic planning, corporate development, corporate governance and corporate services.
ICPAS President Dr Ernest Kan said: “Kah Poh’s appointment is timely, as the Institute is intensifying our efforts in boosting our capabilities and infrastructure, to foster our development into an accountancy body with global membership, outlook and standing. With her wealth of experience in senior management positions, she is the right candidate to take the Institute to its next level of development.”
Dr Tham said: “It is a privilege to be appointed the first CEO of the national accountancy body. The next few years will be especially critical for ICPAS. It is one of my top priorities to bring strategic focus and organisational alignment to achieve our mission to be a global body.”
Prior to joining NHB, Dr Tham also served in senior management positions in various organisations, including the Health Promotion Board, Healthway Medical Group and the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy at the National University of Singapore.
Dr Tham graduated in Dental Surgery at the National University of Singapore under the Public Services Commission (PSC) Merit Bursary Award.
She holds a Masters in Business Administration (NUS) and is a Fellow of ICPAS (FCPA Singapore) and Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA, UK).
