Deloitte Singapore raises entry-level auditor salaries

First-year hires under the firm’s career programme can earn $4,500 monthly

Deloitte Singapore will increase the starting salary for graduates joining the firm as first-year audit associates.

First-year hires under the firm’s FasTrack programme will have a starting salary of $4,500 monthly. Whilst those non-FasTrack first-year hires will get $4,100 per month.

FasTrack is Deloitte's accelerated audit career programme for accountancy graduates. The first batch of graduates from FasTrack joined the firm in September 2022.

Deloitte’s move to adjust its starting salaries supports the government’s plans to strengthen the attractiveness of the accountancy sector and grow Singapore’s pool of skilled accounting professionals.

It also supports recommendations by the Accountancy Workforce Review Committee set up by the Ministry of Finance.

“With these adjustments, the annual salary package for fresh graduates joining Deloitte as auditors will increase by up to 20% from the current annual salary package,” the professional services firm said.

“Including these salary adjustments, the overall investment made by Deloitte to nurture audit talent within their first five years with the firm from 1 September 2024 will amount to around S$62m,” Deloitte said.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
