Three Camsing Healthcare independent directors resign over auditing issues

The directors were either part of the remuneration or nominating committees or both.

Three independent directors from Singapore-listed Camsing Healthcare have resigned, partly citing concerns raised from auditors, the firm announced in a filing on the Singapore Exchange (SGX).

The resignations, which took effect on 20 March, were of Kenneth Chin Hock Raphael Lau, Maurice Tan Huck Liang and Ong Wei Jin. They were all appointed as independent directors in November 2015.

Lau was also the chairman of the audit committee and a member of the remuneration and nominating committees, whilst Liang was the chairman of both the remuneration and nominating committees. Ong was a member of all three committees.

“The independent directors note that the auditors have raised certain matters arising from their audit work and pending resolution of those questions are stopping their audit,” all three said. “The independent directors urge the management to address these and any other matters and concerns of the auditors so that the audit may continue and in a timely manner.”

Following the resignations, Camsing Healthcare requested for a trading halt.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
