How Singapore is positioning itself as a healthcare hub

In 2023, Singapore has witnessed 10 partnership deals in the medical sector.

Initiatives such as the Advanced and Integrated Manufacturing for Sustainable Growth (AimSG) platform and Healthier SG will help position Singapore as an appealing healthcare hub, GlobalData said.

In a report, GlobalData said that AimSG has been paving the way for more international collaborations that can accelerate the AI-driven revolution in Singapore.

In 2023, Singapore has witnessed 10 partnership deals in the medical devices sector, a commendable pace after 12 similar partnerships in 2022.

Recently, a South Korean medical AI company, Lunit Inc., partnered with NTT DATA Singapore to introduce an AI-driven X-ray solution to Singapore General Hospital and Changi General Hospital.

“Singapore's public hospitals are leading a transformative shift in the healthcare realm by integrating AI into the medical imaging process. This integration underscores the importance of enhanced international collaborations, which has played a crucial role in propelling rapid advancements in emerging technologies and facilitating improved data-sharing capabilities within the healthcare sector,” Shreya Jain, Medical Devices Analyst at GlobalData, said.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
