Chart of the Day: Singapore is top destination for Mainland tourists

Other choices are South Korea and Hong Kong.

After the Mainland China finally reopened, Singapore is cited as the top destination of tourists in China in December 2022.

This chart was according to data collected from Trip.com and Fitch Solutions which projected travel data after China announced that it will be ending the strict zero COVID-19 policy on 8 January.

Following Singapore are South Korea, Hong Kong, Japan, and Thailand.

Fitch Solutions sees an increase in Mainland Chinese departures in 2023, but it does not see volumes returning to their pre-pandemic levels.
