Singapore ranks 2nd most popular destination for Chinese business travel

Business travel spending in the city-state is also anticipated to increase by more than 75%.

Singapore is the second most popular outbound business travel destinations for Chinese businesses, according to Trip.Biz, the corporate travel arm of Trip.com Group.

The Corporate Travel Management Market White Paper also reported that business travel spending in the city-state is anticipated to increase by more than 75%.

Singapore is the top performers in the APAC region, along with Thailand and New Zealand.

Overall, the APAC region is projected to experience a 41.2% increase in business travel expenditure.

A Trip.Biz survey showed that over 50% of businesses plan to adopt AI technologies for tasks like itinerary planning and data analysis.

“Travel managers and travellers expressed hope that AI could be used in itinerary planning, process optimisation, data analysis and more to minimise human error and repetitive tasks,” it noted.

AI also helps with tasks like invoice verification and personalisation, though regulatory concerns persist.

Moreover, sustainability is a priority, with 91.6% of business travelers favouring low-emission options. Key ESG measures include promoting sustainable travel, employee welfare, and paperless offices.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
