AIA launches #OneMoreHour to encourage sufficient sleep

It also upgraded its wellness app and launched a new sleep content hub.

AIA Group has launched the #OneMoreHour sleep sufficiency initiative to help combat sleep deprivation in Asia and raise awareness about the health benefits associated with getting sufficient sleep, according to an announcement.

The initiative will reportedly provide tips, tools and rewards that will “encourage people to change their behaviour to get more and better quality sleep,” said AIA.

Professor Michael Chee, sleep expert from the Duke-National University of Singapore (NUS) Medical School and the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine in Singapore, will work with AIA on the initiative.

In line with their latest project, AIA conducted a study in Singapore, mainland China, Hong Kong, Thailand, and Malaysia. Of the respondents, 69% said that they don’t feel good about how much sleep they get whilst over 62% are worried that they are not getting enough sleep or want more sleep. Meanwhile, about one in three people in these countries, or 30%, said that they are not satisfied with the quality of their sleep.

To coincide with the launch of this initiative, AIA has introduced updates to AIA Vitality, its wellness programme, to encourage and reward healthier sleeping habits through a new sleep assessment and sleep-based rewards, as well as sleep tracking tools.

The company has also created a new sleep content hub which provides extensive information and insights on how to achieve better sleeping habits. It will offer written and video content on the hub, including tips from AIA’s Global Ambassador, David Beckham, as well as from the AIA’s other partners such as Tottenham Hotspur Football Club and chef Jeremy Pang.

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
